APC’s Mathew Dogara Daje Wins Munya Bye-Election Amidst Allegations of Irregularities

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Mathew Dogara Daje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the bye-election for the Munya Constituency. The election, held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, saw Daje secure a significant victory, defeating his main rival, Hon. Sabo Sunday Adabyinlo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), by a margin of over 6,000 votes.

The bye-election was necessitated by the passing of Hon. Joseph Haruna Duza of the PDP, who previously held the seat in the Niger State House of Assembly. Three political parties contested for the vacant position: the APC, the PDP, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
